Aeroponics
Roots suspended in air and misted with nutrient solution. The highest-maintenance soilless method and the least forgiving of interruption.
What this changes about growing
- Oxygen at the root surface is unlimited, which is the reason for the technique.
- There is no reservoir of moisture at all: a failed pump or a blocked nozzle can kill a crop within hours.
- Mostly used commercially and for propagation rather than for growing crops to maturity at home.
What GrowingHQ has assessed in it
Only plants with an actual assessment appear here. A plant that is absent has not been ruled out — it has not been looked at for this method.
No plants assessed for this method yet
The method is modelled so that assessments can be added without rework, and none has been made. GrowingHQ will not guess at how a crop behaves in a system nobody has published serious guidance on.
