Grow tent
An enclosed, reflective indoor space with controlled lighting, ventilation and often humidity. Everything the plant receives is supplied by the grower.
What this changes about growing
- Light duration and intensity are set rather than given, which makes day length a control rather than a constraint.
- Ventilation drives both temperature and the air exchange plants need; a sealed tent stalls.
- Running costs are real and scale with light output, which is what usually decides whether a crop is worth growing this way.
Safety
Mains electricity, water and high humidity share one enclosed space. Supplies need residual-current protection and fittings rated for the environment.
Lights and ballasts run hot enough to be a fire risk against fabric or stored material.
