The older of the two common raspberry–blackberry hybrids: sharper than a tayberry, heavy cropping, and at its best cooked or preserved rather than eaten raw. Grown and pruned exactly like a blackberry, and thornless cultivars make it a considerably more pleasant plant to manage.
