Flowers dropping without setting fruit
Open flowers falling from the plant leaving a bare stalk, with no fruit forming behind them. Distinct from fruit that sets and then drops later, which is a different question — here the flower never becomes anything.

How to tell
It coincides with a hot spell or a cold snap: pollen is sterile above about 30 °C and below about 13 °C, so the flower opens, fails and is shed. Later trusses set normally once temperatures settle.
